Channel One cut out a fragment from an archival interview with the former general director of OTR Anatoly Lysenko, in which he spoke about the personality cult of Joseph Stalin. This was reported by journalist Maria Borzunova.
According to her, on the night of April 15 on the first channel, an interview with Anatoly Lysenko, which was recorded in 2017, was shown on the first channel. During an interview, Lysenko was asked if there are “so harmful books” that they should be banned.
On the air of Channel One, they showed only part of his answer to this question: “You know. You know, I love, a strange thing, I like it recently, I have such an alternative story genre. I like it why: there is always an attempt when you read history books, imagine what if, well, and so on. We played three musketeers all our lives and so on.”
In a cut fragment, Lysenko talked about the cult of the personality of Stalin.
“And now there are a lot of these books, incredible aggression has appeared in them, the incredible chanting of Stalin’s cult. The incredible anti-such American-English“ all scum, all against us, ”this scares me,” Lysenko said.
As Borzunova notes, last year the first channel showed this interview completely, one of the first was the frame with the phrase: "We did not change anything in this program. We want to recall Anatoly Lysenko as it was."
