LʼOccitane announced the closure of all stores in Russia

The French cosmetics company LʼOccitane has announced the closure of all its stores in Russia, including an online store, RIA Novosti reports.

In Russia, LʼOccitane, follows from the company's latest annual report to date, had 112 stores.

Following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, many international companies, including perfume and cosmetics leaders LʼOreal and Estee Lauder , announced they were suspending operations in the Russian market.

Two days before the store closures in Russia were announced, LʼOccitane management told BBC News that the company would not leave Russia lest its 700 employees be affected. At the same time, the company stressed that it condemns the “unfair and unjustified invasion” of Ukraine and refused to invest, as well as supply its products to Russia.
