In St. Petersburg, a system of certification of guides and guides is being prepared. This was reported in the city committee on tourism development.
According to the department’s plans, the exam will consist of two parts: computer test and personal interview - online or in person. Testing will be carried out in a special room prepared by the city tourist and information bureau.
In addition, the committee said that a system of personal offices of guides will be formed on the Unified digital platform of St. Petersburg, where they can post information about tourist products, prices and work schedule. And for users they will create a rating of guides.
Recall that from July 1, 2022, the law on the mandatory certification of guides and guides-translators comes into force . In accordance with it, specialists undertake to undergo certification in special commissions. Work permits will be issued to guides who have secondary vocational or higher education. Only citizens of Russia will be able to pass certification. Many St. Petersburg guides are opposed to this initiative and compare it with the excursion system of the USSR.
