The court fined Google 11 million rubles for failing to remove a video about the war in Ukraine

In Moscow, the magistrate of the court district No. 422 of the Tagansky district fined Google 11 million rubles. This is reported by Mediazona with reference to the press service of the capital's courts.

On April 15, the court fined Google under the article on violation of the procedure for access to information (part 2 and part 4 of article 13.41 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) for four and seven million rubles, respectively. The reason for drawing up the protocols was the refusal of the company to remove from YouTube a video about the war on the territory of Ukraine.

According to Roskomnadzor, the videos contained “fake materials discrediting the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation”, “calls for violent actions against Russian military personnel”, and materials from the “Right Sector” and the Azov Regiment.

• In December 2021, the justice of the peace of court district No. 422 of the Tagansky district fined Google 7.2 billion rubles. On November 18, 2021, the Tagansky District Court fined Telegram three million rubles under the article on non-deletion of prohibited information (part 2 of article 13.41 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). On November 8, 2021 , the court fined Google two and Telegram four million rubles.
• In September 2021, the court fined Facebook, Twitter, and Telegram under an article about not removing prohibited content. Facebook was fined 21 million rubles under the article on violation of the procedure for access to information (parts 2 and 4 of article 13.41 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). Under the same article, Telegram was fined nine million, Twitter - five million.
• Roskomnadzor regularly files lawsuits against Google , Facebook , Twitter and Telegram. In May, the department filed the first lawsuit against Google in connection with the requirement to remove 12 links to YouTube with calls for participation in January rallies in support of Alexei Navalny. On May 25, the court fined Google four million rubles for the first time.
