The Russian Foreign Ministry announced an unlimited ban on entry into the country for 29 US citizens - as stated in a statement by the Russian Foreign Ministry, "in response to constantly expanding anti -Russian sanctions." The sanctions, as stated on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, were introduced against persons "from among the highest leaders, businessmen, experts and journalists forming the Russophobic agenda, as well as the spouse of a number of high -ranking officials."

Under the first number on the list is the vice-president of the United States Kamal Harris.
