The risks of nuclear war are now very significant and cannot be underestimated by this danger, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in an interview with the first channel.
At the same time, according to him, the fundamental position of the Russian authorities is that the nuclear war is unacceptable. “We come from it. And I really would not want now, when you said, referring to respected political scientists, when the risks are very, very significant, I would really not want these risks to be artificially swollen, but there are a lot of people who wish to be serious, it is real, it cannot be underestimated,” Lavrov said.
He recalled that in January of the Nuclear Five countries, including Russia, again announced the inadmissibility of nuclear war.
The interview was dedicated to the war in Ukraine (the Russian authorities call it a special operation). The Russian Foreign Minister said that the Western countries, supplying weapons to Ukraine, actually lead the “proxy-war” against Russia.
