The Leninsky District Court of Yekaterinburg appointed 45,000 rubles as compensation for moral damages to human rights activist Sergei Tiunov due to the conditions of his detention in a special detention center. This is reported by the portal Activatica.

At the end of January 2021, Tiunov was sentenced to 30 days of arrest due to a protest against the persecution of Alexei Navalny. The human rights activist himself claimed that he went outside on January 31 to control the snow removal.

After serving the administrative arrest, the human rights activist filed a complaint about the conditions of detention in the special detention center: they did not allow him to have a lawyer, the employees of the special detention center refused to record his complaints, and it was cold in his cell and there was no hot water and furniture.

The Leninsky Court considered Tiunov's appeal against the previous decision on his complaint about the conditions in the special detention center. Earlier, he was awarded 30,000 rubles in compensation for non-pecuniary damage and 20,000 rubles in compensation for legal costs. The activist did not agree with this decision and appealed to the court again.
