The Buchi prosecutor's office named ten Russian soldiers suspected of ill-treatment of city residents during its capture by the Russian Armed Forces

The district prosecutor's office of the city of Bucha near Kiev named ten Russian servicemen suspected of "mistreating the civilian population and other violations of laws and military customs" during the capture of the city by the Russian Armed Forces. This was announced by the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Irina Venediktova.

The list includes Junior Sergeant Vyacheslav Lavrentiev, Private Grigory Naryshkin, Private Vasily Knyazev, Corporal Semyon Maltsev, Private Sergei Peskarev, Private Albert Radnaev, Corporal Mikhail Kashin, Corporal Andrey Bizyaev, Corporal Dmitry Sergienko and Sergeant Nikita Akimov.

“The investigation showed that during the occupation of Bucha they took hostage unarmed civilians, starved them with thirst,

they were kept on their knees with their hands tied and their eyes glued over, they were mocked. In the course were fists and butts. The people were asked for the whereabouts of the Ukrainian troops and the territorial defense. Russian soldiers threatened the victims with murder and simulated the execution of their prisoners by shooting them,” the prosecutor wrote.

Correspondents of the "Agency" contacted Dmitry Sergienko, who appears on the list of the Ukrainian prosecutor's office. According to the publication, he "does not understand why he was on the list, and he has not communicated with his colleagues for a long time." The wife of Mikhail Kashin, another person on the list, said that her husband had not been to Bucha and had not been serving for five years.

The day before, according to The Guardian, small metal darts were found in the bodies of the murdered residents in Bucha - flechettes used during the First World War. On April 23, the mayor of Bucha Anatoly Fedoruk spoke about the completion of the exhumation and identification of the bodies of the dead. According to him, 412 bodies have been found so far, but this is not final data.

The city of Bucha in the Kyiv region was under the occupation of Russian troops for more than a month after their invasion of Ukraine on February 24. The Russian Defense Ministry claimed that the Russian military left the city on 30 March. After that, numerous bodies of civilians were found in the city of Bucha near Kiev.
