The decision to suspend supplies to Haribo was made "until further notice." It was explained by the war in Ukraine, which aggravated the “already difficult economic situation ” in the Russian Federation and in the world, which led to “a significant increase in raw material prices, production costs, serious changes in supply chains and an increase in tariffs for the transportation of goods.”

The letter emphasizes that the suspension of deliveries to Russia does not mean idle time or withdrawal from the Russian market. Haribo asked partners not to terminate supply contracts and to provide a delay in the fulfillment of obligations until the resumption of activities.

Haribo was founded in 1920 by entrepreneur Hans Riegel. Now it distributes its products in more than 100 countries around the world.

Yale University estimates that 750 companies have reduced their activities in Russia to one degree or another or completely stopped them due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
