Moscow MP Alexey Gorinov was finally charged in the case of “fakes” about the army

Municipal deputy of the Krasnoselsky district of Moscow Alexey Gorinov was finally charged under the article on “fake news” about the Russian army (Part 2 of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code). Lawyer Sergei Telnov, who represents his interests, told OVD-Info about this.

Earlier, the Presnensky Court of Moscow sent Gorinov to a pre-trial detention center for two months. Together with him, the head of the district, Elena Kotenochkina, who is now outside Russia, is involved in the case. She was put on the international wanted list and arrested in absentia for two months from the moment of actual detention or from the moment of extradition.

The investigation believes that Kotenochkina and Gorinov used their official positions to discredit the Russian military. In particular, at a meeting of the Council of Deputies on March 15, they called the “special operation” in Ukraine a war and argued that the Russian government wants to seize the territory of this country. A video of the meeting and speeches of the defendants in the case was published on the YouTube channel of the Krasnoselsky District.

In addition, according to the prosecution, the deputies stated that children were dying every day during the “special operation” and compared the Russian state to a fascist one.

The case also includes a video from March 16, which was recorded by Kotenochkina - according to investigators, it talks about “a large number of military personnel undergoing compulsory military service, located in the combat zone on the territory of Ukraine.”

Gorinov was detained on March 26; on the same day, security forces conducted searches in his apartment and in the building of the Council of Deputies of the Krasnoselsky District. Yashin, his assistant Veronika Shulgina and the district mayor Mikhail Biryukov were interrogated as witnesses. Kotenochkina’s husband was also summoned for questioning.

Politician Ilya Yashin reported that a criminal case was opened due to denunciations by State Duma deputies - Oleg Leonov from the New People faction and Alexander Khinshtein from United Russia.

The defense was officially notified of the completion of the investigation. The investigator demanded that the defense familiarize itself with the three volumes of the case before May 5. “They are in a hurry to send the case to court,” Telnov noted.
