The Moscow Arbitration Court arrested the assets of the Russian division of Googl e for 500 million rubles following a claim from the NTV television company. This is reported in the court file.
The NTV television company demanded that access to its YouTube channel be restored. The hearing took place on April 29, the card appeared on the court website only on May 4. The lawsuit was filed on April 13, the next hearing is scheduled for May 24.
On April 25, the court refused NTV to seize Google's property due to the fact that the television company did not explain why this was a necessary measure in the lawsuit. In addition, the court found that the seizure of Google’s property could “violate the rights of third parties.”
Previously, the same court arrested the company’s assets for 500 million rubles in a lawsuit by Gazprom Media, the reason for which was YouTube’s refusal to post the company’s content in 2015.
In mid-March, YouTube began blocking accounts of Russian state media, including NTV and TNT channels.
