In St. Petersburg SIZO-5, cellmates harassed the artist Sasha Skochilenko, who was arrested in the case of replacing price tags in a supermarket with anti-war leaflets, said the artist's girlfriend Sonya.
Last week, Skochilenko was transferred from a cell for 18 people to a six-bed cell. A few days later, when meeting with lawyer Yana Nepovinnova, the artist cried for a long time and talked about how hard it was for her in the SIZO because of the pressure from her cellmate.
The girl Sonya Skochilenko spoke in more detail about what is happening in SIZO-5. The “senior in the cell” allows the artist to eat only during a common breakfast, lunch and dinner. When Skochilenko missed breakfast due to a doctor's appointment, the "eldest" forbade her to eat before lunch. Also, a cellmate forces the artist to throw away some of her food under the pretext that “the refrigerator is not made of rubber.”
“In general, there is a very strange rule with a refrigerator: only the eldest can open it, otherwise it will allegedly defrost. Sasha cannot open the refrigerator on her own, and she also does not always have access to the rest of the products, since they are stored under the eldest’s bed, ”says Sonya.
After some time, other inmates joined the persecution. They began to tell the artist that she smelled bad, and forced her to wash her clothes every day. Recently, due to the requirement of cellmates to wash things right in the morning, Skochilenko was unable to have breakfast.
“Due to round-the-clock pressure, Sasha is in a very depressed state, she told me through a lawyer that she has no idea what will be left of her if she spends another ten years in such a place,” the artist’s girl said.
Skochilenko is accused under the article about "fake" about the Russian army (Part 2 of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code). She faces up to 10 years in prison.
