Two men attacked passers-by in the park of the Israeli city of Elad during the celebration of Israel's Independence Day, according to The Times of Israel, citing doctors.
Three people were killed and up to seven people were injured. The Jerusalem Post and Haaretz write about four victims, two of them were seriously injured.
According to eyewitnesses, one of the attackers was armed with a firearm, the other with an ax or a large knife. They operated in different parts of the park and fled after the attack. They are wanted.
According to The Times of Israel, the Palestinian group Hamas welcomed the attack, calling it a response to a May 5 visit by Jews to the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, a sacred site for Muslims and Jews.
