The fire passed more than 75 thousand hectares of forest in Siberia

Forest fires continue in Siberia. Since the beginning of the year, the fire has already passed more than 75 thousand hectares. Russian President Vladimir Putin entrusted with the responsibility to combat fires on the regional authorities.

More than 77.7 thousand hectares of forest were passed by fire since the beginning of 2022 in the regions of the Siberian Federal District, as well as in Buryatia and Transbaikalia. This is stated in the data of "Aviation Guide" by May 10.

By May 9, it was known about 72.2 thousand hectares of forest, passed by fire.

The worst situation, according to the aircraft guard, is developing in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, where the total official fire area since the beginning of the year has already exceeded 20 thousand hectares, as well as in the Irkutsk region (16 thousand hectares) and Transbaikalia (10.1 thousand hectares).

In May, Pali Palais spread to housing in various regions of Siberia. Seven people were killed in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, about 1.2 thousand people were left without shelter. In the Kemerovo region, during the fires on May 8, three were killed, in the Omsk region - two. Against this background, PF President Vladimir Putin decided to hold a meeting on fires. He laid responsibility for landscape fires to regional and municipal authorities.

“The main question that representatives of the constituent entities of the federation has been constantly talking about recently was the lack of funds for extinguishing forest fires. I begin from the fact that this issue is also removed, ”Putin believes.

“Now the regional authorities have all the necessary powers, equipment, financial resources to prevent forest fires,” he added.

In total, since the beginning of the year, more than 272 thousand hectares of forest have passed in Russia.
