At the end of April, the court in Belgorod arrested a resident of Tyumen, who, according to investigators, tried to cross the border and join the ranks of the Terborne of Ukraine. Mediazona found out that the 20-year-old “mercenary” worked at Yandex.Dee, spent time for discussions with fans of Japanese computer games and argued about the reasons for the start of the war with a grandmother who believed Russian television.

On April 19, the source of RIA Novosti reported on the detention of “a native of Salekhard, who wanted to get to Ukraine and fight in the ranks of Ukrainian militants. Then the agency published a video with a “detained man”, which was charged with an article on an illegal armed formation in a foreign state. On the record, he sits in front of the camera in a yellow sweatshirt with the Yandex.Dera logo, his voice is more likely teenage, his face is blurred during installation.

“I was going to go to the territory of Ukraine in order to join the international legion of the territorial defense of Ukraine, since I had problems in material terms and I wanted to make money. I wanted to give most of the money to restore the infrastructure of Ukraine, ”answers the question that remained behind the interviewer’s frame about what he did in the Belgorod region.

The next day, the Shot telegram channel showed a photo from the detainee’s passport. It turned out to be a 20-year-old resident of Tyumen named Maxim.

Shot claimed that the young man was detained when he "with things and Sukhpaik" walked along the railway tracks in Belgorod towards the border with Ukraine. Crossing the border, he allegedly was going to get to Kharkov and join the Ukrainian Volunteer Battalion. According to the authors of the publication, a “private channel in a cart, where they washed my brains and incited hatred of Russia”, the administrator of which was a citizen of Ukraine, prompted the young man.

“He personally oversee the young traitor - he said where to go to slip across the border. He promised that in Kharkov he would meet him who was needed. <...> On his phone found a photo of our technology made on the road, and the vidos with the monologues of himself. In them, the detainee stated that he wanted to shoot the Russian military, ”wrote a telegram channel.

Only a week later, on April 26, already with reference to the press service of the FSB, and not to sources, Russian agencies reported the arrest of Maxim. The message emphasized that the detention was carried out jointly with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, but its circumstances were not disclosed.

The colleague of Maxim (in Tyumen, the detainee worked at the assembly of orders at Yandex.Dee) looked at the work schedule and called the Mediazone the name of the young man -.

On the sites of the courts of the Belgorod region, information about him could not be found. The press service of the Belgorod Regional Court recommended that the FSB request. Nevertheless, on the Utube channel of the court, the report of the GTRK Belgorod was published from a meeting to choose a preventive measure Gayuk, which was held in the Sverdlovsk District Court. The date of the meeting in the report is not indicated, it was published after the FSB press release.

In the video, the prosecutor asks the court to arrest a young man, since he does not have a residence permit in Belgorod. The lawyer agrees with him: “In this case, unfortunately, we cannot imagine any grounds for choosing a milder preventive measure.”

“This was the rare case when the positions of the state prosecutor and lawyer of the suspect coincided,” says a sunbathing voice. The announcer repeats that Maxim wanted to “become a mercenary”, but “now it seems like he realized everything and accuses Western propaganda for everything, asks him to understand and forgive him.”

On April 13, the Lefortovo court of Moscow arrested another Russian - Maxim Dmitrienko, who, according to investigators, who tried, to join "one of the nationalist formations of Ukraine to participate in hostilities against Russia." According to TASS, Dmitrienko served in the French foreign legion for three years, his last position is the BMP operator.

Referring to the case file, the agency claims that in Paris a man turned to the Ukrainian Embassy with a request to allow him to fight on the side of the Ukrainian troops, but he was refused. Then he tried to get into the territory of a neighboring country through Russia, but when trying to leave, he was detained by the FSB officers. “As noted in the case file, Dmitrienko maintained contact with the militants of the Azov battalion, who previously also served in a foreign legion,” TASS writes.

Another thing, under the article on participation in the illegal armed formation in Ukraine, was excited in Crimea against a resident of Mariupol. According to Interfax, he was detained while trying to cross the Russian border "under the guise of a peaceful resident." “It was established that a resident of Mariupol on February 24, 2022 joined the ranks of the illegal armed formation created by the former military personnel of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” the message said.

There is a small interview with Maxim himself in the video: his face is blurry again, the voice is changed. “Because I only watch Ukrainian propaganda, looked only on one side of the coin and listened to people who were firmly confident in the correctness of the Ukrainian side. I did not think that nationalist groups prevail on the other side, and did not think that the situation is completely different. The information must be selected carefully, you can understand people who are afraid to believe at all, and, it seems to me, it is worth checking and analyzing many sources, the media, everything is to be verified. And if the majority say one information, then it seems to me that this information is correct, ”he says.

Gayuk spoke “Mediazon” with five acquaintances - they all believe that he said these words only because he was under investigation. Only Gayuk Farid’s grandmother and his mother believes: Maxim did not watch TV and mistakenly thought that Russia began the war in Ukraine, and now he realized that he was wrong.

"I did not know, did not think, did not watch the TV"

Maxim was born in the capital of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug-Salekhard. Thinking that he can be sent to serve his sentence at the place of registration, relatives are horrified.

“As I imagine: Harp, Labytnangi - there are such terrible conditions, there are tuberculosis, AIDS. Political heavy prisons, there are nine months there is winter, ”Maxim Farid's grandmother cries.

“Terrible cold prisons. It is necessary to have incredible resistance to survive there, passing through all this - humiliation, deprivation. Maybe I’ll say a terrible thing now, but it would be better to kill, you know: once I cried, buried it in the pit - and all that he is there as many years old, ”adds his mother Dilyar.

The mother does not hope for an acquittal under an article that provides for 8 to 15 years in prison, and the chance of punishment in the form of a restriction of freedom, which is provided for by this article in the commission of a crime for the first time, evaluates the “hundredth share of interest”. For this reason, she does not want to hire a lawyer: one candidate for defenders estimated the cost of his services only at the first stage of work at 100 thousand rubles, but said that she would not give guarantees for a successful outcome, and the lawyer, according to Dilyara, refers to the young man with sympathy and promises to help him as much as possible.

The Ukrainian father, from whom Gayuk got an unusual surname, left the family when Maxim was three years old, and the stepfather soon “offended the boy”, his grandmother Farida says. He studied at school, Maxim was not going to go anywhere, spent a lot of time at the computer. He was afraid of the army, so he asked his grandmother’s money for a trip to Nizhnevartovsk, lay there in a psychiatric hospital and returned with a military ID. Grandmother gave her grandson money to receive a driver’s license so that “the boy took up at least something”, handed the keys to a one-room apartment in Tyumen in a couple of houses from her and then calmed down.

At the end of February, when rumors about the first increase in food prices, Maxim asked his grandmother to 15 thousand rubles, went to the store and scored her refrigerator with food, bought an additional freezer.

“I say: why? Everything is fine with us, where I am so much, I live alone! And he: "No, it will be worse. Grandma, do you believe this TV? Russians are to blame, go to the war to Ukraine!" - The words of the grandson still bring the pensioner bewilderment. - In February, I served Covid heavily, I did not have the strength for a long time, it is tedious to explain to him how everything really is. I immediately grabbed my head, [my] jumped up, I said: this is not true. He is like my niece - her mother left for Russia, and she remained in Krivoy Rog, and now she is also zombie, everything was excited: "Why don't you go to rallies, why are you sitting silently?" And I always told her: "Come on, do not dare to talk badly about Putin." Her husband was taken from her in the army, and my boy says everything: I will go, I will go. And I say: do not laugh, they will kill you. "

After the dispute about the war, Maxim did not congratulate his grandmother on March 8, and by the end of the month he completely stopped in touch. “I came to him, I look - in the pots of food, there are no things. I say to the mother: What to do? Well, we call the police, ”recalls the pensioner. Maxim Dilyar’s mother wrote a statement about the disappearance of her son.

When a video with an interrogation was published, one of Maxim’s friends in VKontakte sent him to Dilyara and asked if his son was. Upon learning of Maxim, the woman began to call the courts of Belgorod. It turned out that on April 7 or 8 - more than two weeks before the first message of RIA Novosti - he was detained under an administrative article and arrested for 15 days.

Gayuk was supposed to be released late in the evening of April 22, but on this day, by telephone, the Mother’s phone was told that he was taken to court-at a meeting of detention, which the FSB press service reported only four days later.

What happened to Maxim all these days is unknown. Dilyara Surnacheva managed to contact the FSB investigator the next day. He told her that, according to the investigation, her son made before detention.

“He arrived in a taxi [in Belgorod], went out and walked along the railway tracks. And in the phone there was a correspondence where the girl and the nickname gave phones, where you can join the battalion. [She advised] just go by rail in Belgorod, go straight, straight, and there who needs to be suitable for you, will find, let them know. And he also said that he had no money to come there. And she even sent him money - 30 thousand [rubles] on the road, ”the mother of the arrested recalls the investigator.

Surnachev did not see the materials of the case, but he willingly believe in the words of the FSB officer. Later, the investigator handed the pipe to Maxim himself. “He said that he was cooperating, that everything was as it was: that there was a correspondence on the phone, that he wanted to help the girl this ... and when they gave him the phone, I say:“ Maxim, how? You hold on. ” I will not report him, he is sick there. I say: "We will never abandon you, we will help, why didn’t you even say goodbye to your grandmother?" And he says: "I thought I would work there." What kind of kindergarten? Patrol? I say: “They could kill you, you see. You hold on, son, but you were alive. They stopped in time,” Surnacheva recalls. It does not seem to her that the presence of the investigator during a conversation could affect the sincerity of her son. In everything, she blames Maxim's friend in VKontakte Veronica Blueberries.

“I looked at this girl in friends so ... The profile was already closed, so I didn’t write anything. As I understood, she herself from Ukraine. Apparently, she complained how it was sad on their side there, and he, like a man, wanted to prove himself, maybe to protect himself or somehow something ... rash, not understanding or understanding what was happening in the country. In general, I led to all this, I did not think about such consequences of the terrible. I thought, apparently, [what] Russia there attacks poor inhabitants of Ukraine, they need to help ... their youthful mind, ”the mother of the arrested argues.

“A zombie boy, absolutely does not hear me. I say: this is violence, it comes from the Nazis, from Ukraine! And he: No, grandmother, this is Putin, these are Russian, and so on and so on, ”recalls Farid Surnachev. - Boyish bravado, youthful maximalism. Naturally, now he realizes: I did not know, I did not think, did not watch the TV! ”

"What should I do, they do not let me across the border"

Nika Blueberries - administrator of the server on, uniting fans of one of the Japanese. Now she was evacuated from Kharkov attacked by Russian troops in Rivne.

In total, about a thousand people participate in the community, but not more than two hundred active users, which was Maxim Gayuk. Among the administrators there are both Ukrainians and Russians.

On the server, even unregistered participants are visible topics for discussion, all of them are devoted to the game whose main characters are supernatural creatures: magicians, perfumes and fairies. Access to the general chat is issued only after the confidence appears that the person who asked about him is “not a deceiver and not a troll who comes to bring people to emotion and fofli,” explains a permanent participant in the server. Politics was also discussed there, but both Loginov’s administration and another server participant, offended by the administrators because he was once banned, converged: “Political Srash” in the community tried to avoid.

“Admins are shaking for their server, they do not want people to leave there. But with the beginning of this military operation, they are such, plus or minus hidden sentiment of the pro-Western ones came out. That is, in general, quite a few people flew to the ban because they do not agree with the position that Ukraine is now suffering, but at the same time, admins, roughly speaking, did not come every day with a cry of "Glory to Ukraine!" Or something like that, ”says the enemy of the administrators.

Some users were really banned for the letter Z on the avatar, the supporter of Loginov administrators explains, but only because the mood of most participants in the server is “sharply anti -war”.

“Any [pro -Russian] ideas, memes, pictures for us are equal to the provocations and even rehabilitation of Nazism. No matter how you look at the situation, such restrictions on our part are undoubtedly the right approach to holding the atmosphere in a more comfortable conversation, ”he explains.

Another interlocutor of the Mediazones from the server, who believes that in the war in Ukraine not everything is so unambiguous, says that Maxim stood “on pro -Western positions” a few years ago. And he even calls him a militarist, "fan of the US Army." Not familiar with Gayuk’s life on the Internet, but in reality, a colleague in Yandex.Dee recalls that he often joked “in the manner of the American military”.

But even opponents of Ukraine’s support do not believe that the server administrators could “recruit” Gayuk to join the Armed Forces. “Rote is Rofl, and Maxim is an idiot,” one of them summarizes.

Nick Blenika herself, who, in a conversation with Maxim’s mother, indicated the FSB investigator, says that Gayuk wrote to her already upon arrival in Belgorod.

“He wrote to me:“ What should I do, they don’t let me across the border. ” I replied that, well, it is not surprising what you were hoping for? He was even offended at me then, said: "Well, thank you." After this connection with him, there was no longer. I have nothing to hide, let the FSB pull out a dialogue from the cart, I did not throw off a dime of these 30 thousand and even more so. And I have no money, this amount is also significant for me. All cards, all correspondence is open, ”says Nick Blueberries.

Both dividing the anti -war position, and the server participants who do not share it believe that Maxim could indeed go to Ukraine on his own. About the war, he was sharply worried. Immediately after its beginning, Gayuk went to the picket in the center of Tyumen, then a dozen server users wished him good luck and asked to be careful with the National Guard. A few hours later, he posted a photo of the poster with the inscription “Instead of phantom Nazis in Ukraine, innocent people die! It needs to be stopped! " And he said that the police detained him, delivered him to the department and immediately released him.

“I did not think that he would do this that he would just take and go there without checking anything. It seems to me that some kind of such, I don’t know, the act of despair is more, ”says Maxim’s colleague from Yandex.Dea. “Or maybe someone caught him at the hobby of the West and said: and if you are like that, then why don’t you go to the Ukrainian army to serve, to fight against the invaders for a good matter?”

“Maxim was an important part of our community, he sat from the first days of the server. He actively conducted conversations - both in the dedicated chats, and simply loved to chat for life. I sat almost every day. With a part of the guys, he saw in real life and, with their own words, during communication live was no less pleasant person than when communicating on the network. Maxim himself admitted that it was the server with his wonderful people who helped him go through many difficult stages in life, it was in his chats that he found support and understanding.
