Security forces are spying on an activist from Irkutsk

Irkutsk activist, founder of the “New Russia - a Free Country” movement Pavel Kharitonenko said that he was under operational surveillance. He himself told OVD-Info about this.

Kharitonenko said that in recent days he has been regularly followed by law enforcement officers - the security forces “accompany” him to his apartment and follow his car in the same car.

The reasons for the surveillance are unknown to the activist, but he suggested that law enforcement officers have recently been deliberately “making nightmares” for oppositionists, forcing them to leave.

At the end of February, Kharitonenko during an anti-war picket - a man stood with a poster “Your hands are in blood, stop the war.” In March, he was questioned by the Investigative Committee along with other local activists.
