Former Minister Alexei Ulyukaeva ahead of schedule left the colony

Former Minister of Economic Development of Russia Alexei Ulyukaeva ahead of schedule left the colony No. 1 near Tver. Earlier, the court granted the petition for his parole. Representatives of the prosecutor's office and the Federal Penitentiary Service did not mind the parole of the former minister.

Ulyukaev left the colony on the Range Rover SUV, accompanied by two more cars without numbers.

• Alexei Ulyukaev was detained in November 2016 at the office of Rosneft, which is headed by Igor Sechin, close to Vladimir Putin Putin. According to investigators, Ulyukaev extorted two million dollars from Sechin for a positive assessment of the transaction on the purchase of Rosneft Bashneft.
• In December 2017, the court found Ulyukaev guilty of receiving a bribe and sentenced him to eight years in a maximum security colony, as well as a fine of more than 130 million rubles. The Minister did not plead guilty. He insisted that the criminal process against him was a provocation by Sechin and the FSB.
