Artist Danila Tkachenko reported a criminal case over a failed rally in Moscow on May 9

Artist Danila Tkachenko stated that FSB officers disrupted his action on May 9 in Moscow and opened a criminal case against him.

As he writes on social media, for his peaceful action he installed 140 blue and yellow smoke bombs in the air conditioners outside the windows of apartments near the Kremlin, which he planned to launch remotely during the parade on Red Square. He published a photomontage of what this action could look like.

According to Tkachenko, he himself left Russia, but now his relatives and friends are being searched. "My friend was beaten and jailed for 10 days, my mother is being threatened with a criminal case," he writes.

A criminal case against Tkachenko himself was opened under the article on hooliganism committed by a group of persons (part 2 of article 213 of the Criminal Code, punishable by a fine of 500 thousand to one million rubles, forced labor for up to five years, or imprisonment for up to seven years), OVD-Info reports .

Danila Tkachenko works in the genre of documentary photography. In 2014, he won the first prize of World Press Photo for the series "Escape" about people living as hermits in nature. In 2015, his series "Forbidden Zones", telling about abandoned secret military cities of Russia, won the European Publishers Award for Photography. Tkachenko is also known for the photo project "Rodina" , in which he set fire to empty village houses.
