Artist Danil Tkachenko spoke about the criminal case due to the failed rally on May 9 in Moscow

In Moscow, a criminal case was opened against the artist and photographer Danila Tkachenko for hooliganism committed by a group of people (part 2 of article 213 of the Criminal Code) due to a “failed peaceful action” on May 9. He himself spoke about this on Facebook.

According to the artist, he planned to remotely light 140 blue and yellow smoke bombs near the Kremlin. “The launch was planned to be carried out remotely, but the action was stopped by the FSB,” he wrote, stressing that he acted alone and did not tell anyone about his plans.

Tkachenko, who is now abroad with his girlfriend, told Meduza that after May 9, searches were carried out at the homes of his friends and mother, the apartments where he used to live or was registered, and the relatives of his girlfriend.

“My friends were detained by [employees of the center for combating extremism of the Ministry of Internal Affairs] “eshniki”. A group of people in masks attacked the friends, put them face down on the asphalt, and then took them to the police station. One of them was beaten. He was imprisoned for 10 days for allegedly swearing during the investigation. This is probably a pretext to close it, ”Tkachenko said, explaining that he does not name the arrested friend, because he does not know if he wants publicity.

He clarified that a lawyer works with his friend, who told him about the criminal case of hooliganism. “As far as I know, a friend is in the status of a witness,” the artist added.
