Abramovich's house worth 10 million euros seized in Portugal

Portuguese authorities have seized a house belonging to millionaire Roman Abramovich, reports the Portuguese newspaper Publico. The translation of the note is provided by RBC.

According to the publication, the property was seized on March 25 at the request of the Portuguese Foreign Ministry. The house is located in a resort area in the south of the country in the Algarve region. Its cost is estimated at 10 million euros.

In early February, Millhouse Views LLC , owned by Abramovich's holding company, tried to sell this house to a British citizen. The attempt to complete the deal was noticed by the Portuguese State Banking Corporation, which established that the company belonged to Abramovich's holding company and alerted the Judicial Police.

On March 15, the EU announced a fourth package of sanctions against Russia, which included Roman Abramovich. The restrictions included the freezing of assets, a ban on entry into the European Union, and a ban on EU citizens and companies entering into transactions with sanctioned individuals.

Since April 2021, Abramovich has been a citizen of Portugal. Portuguese media wrote that he received citizenship illegally. He also has Israeli citizenship.
