In Buryatia, the teacher was fined for a conversation with students about the war in Ukraine

The court in Buryatia fined 40 thousand rubles to a pregnant English teacher Elena Bagaev for a conversation with students about the war in Ukraine. This was reported by the magazine "People of Baikal".

The 31-year-old teacher was found guilty of public discrediting the Russian army.

According to the magazine, on March 23, Bagaeva heard that schoolchildren "emotionally talked" with each other about the events in Ukraine. The teacher took part in the conversation. “I tried to convey that any war is bad that it is impossible to wish death to Ukrainians and feel hatred for them, they are the same people like us. And at the end, the guys agreed with me - yes, we must live in peace and tranquility,” Bagaeva told Baikal people.

A day later, the mother of one of the students complained to Bagaev’s school for "anti -Russian propaganda." Then she brought to the police an audio recording of the conversation that her daughter made in the lesson. According to the magazine, audio was mounted: out of almost fifty minutes, eight remained.

“Everything is glued, re-reduced so that it is to discredit me as much as possible,” says Bagaeva. “Not a single good word is from me there. The phrases are torn from the context. I got some kind of anti-Soviet,” Bagaeva said.

During the court hearing, the teacher tried to prove that she had the right in the lesson to educate schoolchildren. The court found that Bagaeva was engaged in agitation. According to the teacher, the school team supported her.

Now she is on vacation, "to save the nerves," and in September she will go on maternity leave. Bagaeva plans to challenge the court decision.
