The court in St. Petersburg refused to cancel the arrest of the artist Sasha Skochilenko. She is accused in a criminal case of discrediting the army - she allegedly pasted the price tags in the store with information about the victims of the war in Ukraine. This was reported by the press service of the city courts.

The defense of Skochilenko demanded to cancel the decision of the previous instance - on the conclusion of the artist in custody for two months. The court dismissed him. The meeting was held closed.

• The artist, musician and activist Sasha Skochilenko is accused of stinging stickers with information about events in Ukraine in the store. A criminal case on discrediting the Russian armed forces based on political hatred was opened on her. She faces up to 10 years in prison. On April 13, the court sent Skochilenko to arrest for two months.
• The criminal case against Sasha Skochilenko was opened after the denunciation of the St. Petersburg pensioner, her interrogation was published by the artist’s lawyer. The woman saw the price tags in the store and, according to her, she "extremely outraged the read slander." The pensioner said that she was “very worried” for Russian soldiers in Ukraine and watching all the news about it.
• Civil activists and journalists created an open letter demanding to release the St. Petersburg artist Sasha Skochilenko from the pre-trial detention center due to potential destructive problems for her health. At the end of April, Skochilenko worsened the state of health.

The new article of the Criminal Code - Article 207.3 - provides for up to 15 years of the colony for discrediting the military in the event of serious consequences and a fine of up to 5 million rubles.
