Zaporozhye NPP will work for Russia, said Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Marat Khusnullin, who came to visit Melitopol. It is reported by RIA Novosti.
“Energy electricity is a commodity that cannot be stored in a warehouse. Therefore, if the energy system of Ukraine is ready to accept and pay money, then we will work, if it won’t accept - (the nuclear power plant) will work for Russia,” Khusnullin said. According to him, Russia will not "worry about where to sell electricity."
The vice-premier explained his visit to the Zaporizhzhia region with help for the integration of the region with the Russian Federation. He also stated that "the prospect of the region is to work in our friendly Russian family", and announced plans to launch the maximum turnover of the ruble in all the "liberated" territories of Ukraine. In particular, residents of the Zaporozhye region, according to Khusnullin, will begin to pay salaries and pensions in rubles in May.
The day before, the official made similar statements in the Kherson region of Ukraine, also occupied by Russian forces.
