Conflict Intelligence Team founder Ruslan Leviev arrested in absentia in case of "fakes" about Russian army. Second defendant is journalist Michael Naki

The Basmanny Court of Moscow has arrested in absentia the founder of Conflict Intelligence Team, Ruslan Leviev, in a case of disseminating "fakes" about the Russian army "with the artificial creation of evidence of the accusation." This was reported by Mediazona online.

During the court hearing, the investigator said that the case against Leviev was opened on March 16, and the second defendant in it is journalist Michael Naki. After the war in Ukraine began, Leviev posted daily combat reports on Naki's YouTube channel, the publication notes.

The case against Leviev became known on May 18. It was opened under paragraph "c" of Part 2 of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which provides for a maximum penalty of imprisonment for a term of five to 10 years. In court, the investigator did not specify what exactly Leviev is accused of, stating that the case materials include "acts of inspection of Internet resources."

The Russian Interior Ministry has declared Leviev and Naki wanted. They both left Russia earlier.
