Novgorod: the head of "Yabloko" was fined under the article on the discrediting of the army

The head of the Zabloko regional branch in Veliky Novgorod Viktor Shalyakin was fined 45 thousand rubles under the article on discrediting the Russian army due to a video about the Afghan war. This was reported by "OTD-Info" with reference to a colleague of politician Anna Cherepanova.

According to a human rights organization, Shalyakin, being a veteran of the Russian Armed Forces, published a video on VKontakte, in which he shared his memories of participation in the Afghan war and salvation of refugees from the Shiraki military base in Georgia. On the record, the politician condemned any military operations.

As noted by the OVD-Info, a linguistic examination confirmed that it was a video about events that were not related to war in Ukraine. Nevertheless, the court found Shalyakin guilty and appointed a fine. Since February 24, this is the fourth case of Shalyakin to bring to administrative responsibility. The members of the "Yabloko" believe that this is one of the repressive measures to combat the activities of the party.

In the city of Velikiye Luki near Pskov, the court fined the 62-year-old pensioner-farmer Ivan Kotkov ("Yabloko") for 30 thousand rubles for the "no war" sticker in a personal car.
