Russia stopped supplying gas to Finland
The company "Gazprom Export" notified the energy company Gasum Oy on May 20 that the supply of natural gas to Finland will stop on the morning of May 21. The reason is that the partners refused to pay for fuel in rubles. This was reported by TASS SI link to the Ministry of Employment and Economics of Finland.
The department notes that under a long -term contract, the currency of payment is Euro. Gasum decided to contact the arbitration, since, in her opinion, the Russian side violates the terms of the contract with its demand.
Earlier, Finland has prepared to reduce gas import from Russia. According to the agency, direct needs for gas consumers will satisfy in any situation, as well as the needs of the main services of the company.
"Energy companies can move, and some have already switched from gas to other types of fuel on market conditions. When Russian imports will stop, the position of industrial enterprises using gas will be different. Some of them have already switched to another fuel, some are moving to the Baltic countries via the BalticConnector pipeline," the ministry said.
BalticConnector between Finland and Estonia allows you to import gas from the Baltic countries. Liquefied natural gas (LNG) through terminals in Tornio and Pori will also enter Finland. In addition, in the fall, they plan to complete the construction of the LNG terminal in Hamin.
