RBC: Moscow City Hall will be responsible for the restoration of Donetsk and Lugansk

The Moscow City Hall will oversee the restoration of the infrastructure of Donetsk and Luhansk, RBC reports, citing a source close to the city authorities.

The funds will be directed from the Moscow budget, but it is not yet clear how much will have to be spent, the source said, adding that "the assistance will be comprehensive."

The press service of the Moscow City Hall declined to comment, writes RBC.

• On May 19, the first deputy head of the presidential administration, Sergei Kiriyenko, reported that the Russian regions would “take patronage” over the areas of the self-proclaimed DPR and LPR. Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov, in turn, said that in each case there would be a “separate decision” about the sources from which the regions would receive funds to help the LPR and DPR.
• The authorities of the Bryansk, Kursk, Leningrad, Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod regions, as well as Sevastopol, have already announced patronage over certain territories of the self-proclaimed LPR and DPR, RBC recalls. A similar model was used in 2014 after the annexation of Crimea. However, according to a source close to the presidential administration, it was about other scales of infrastructure restoration.
