More than 500 thousand hectares of forest burned in Siberia and in the Far East

Forest fires in the regions of Siberia and the Far East passed at least 509.6 thousand hectares of the territory, follows from the data of ground monitoring "Aviation -Service" on May 23.

Approximately 28% of the burnt territory falls on the Amur Region - the region ranks first in Russia in area.

Over the past day, large foci (more than 10 thousand hectares) have been seen in the Irkutsk region, the Krasnoyarsk and Transbaikal region. An emergency mode has been introduced on the territory of these regions.

• Earlier, the UK opened criminal cases due to mass fires against officials in the Krasnoyarsk Territory , the Amur and Omsk regions . In some regions, fire led to the death of people and the destruction of settlements.
