The Kiev regional prosecutor's office and the Kiev-Svyatoshinsky district prosecutor's office suspect five Russian servicemen and three fighters of the PMC "Wagner" of violating the laws and customs of war, involving premeditated murder (part 1, part 2 of article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
The Security Service of Ukraine has published the names of the suspects. These are senior lieutenant Oleg Krikunov, senior lieutenant Vitaly Dmitriev, sergeant Alexander Vanchikov, sergeant Chingiz Gonchikov, sergeant Magomedmirza Suleymanov and three Wagner fighters - Sergey Sazanov, Sergey Sazonov and Alexander Stupnitsky.
According to the Office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, the suspects are involved in 14 episodes of ill-treatment of civilians in the Kyiv region, including murder, torture, robbery and arson of houses. “After their torture, only three people managed to survive,” the department said.
The military and mercenaries, in particular, were accused of killing the headman of the village of Motyzhin, Olga Sukhenko, and members of her family. According to the Ukrainian authorities, in March the military abducted the headman, her husband and son, tortured them, “trying to get information about the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the territorial defense”, and then killed them.
During the war, it is impossible to promptly verify the information that even the official representatives of the conflicting parties disseminate.
