Vice-Governor Meksin can lead the horizons
The composition of the city election commission will be updated in St. Petersburg. The CEC agreed to appoint the election commission of the vice-governor of St. Petersburg on the domestic policy of Maxim Meixin, writes Fontanka with reference to the interlocutor from among the high-ranking officials in Moscow and other unnamed sources.
According to Fontanka, Meyksin will organize the presidential elections, as well as municipal and governor elections in 2024. However, officially there is no confirmation.
According to the law of the chairman and secretary of the city election commission, it recommends the Central Election Commission (CEC). According to Fontanka, the Governor of St. Petersburg, Alexander Beglov, initially proposed three candidates to this place: the current children's ombudsman Anna Mityanin, the deputy chairman of the Committee on Informatization and Communications Dmitry Kuzmin and the vice-governor of the domestic policy of Maxim Meysin. As a result of negotiations with the presidential administration, the CEC agreed to the candidacy of Meixin, says the publication with reference to sources. The head of the Central Election Commission Ella Pamfilova should announce the appointment of an official on May 25.
Maxim Meyksin took the post of vice-governor in domestic politics in 2021. Before that, he headed the administration of the Central District. It was there that three Boris Vishnevsky participated in the 2021 elections. Commenting on this situation in an interview with Rotond, Meixin said that he did not study reports of elections in the Central District and did not see anything reprehensible in the elections in his area of three Vishnevsky.
In recent months, according to Fontanka, as vice-governor on domestic politics, Meksin instructed the district officials to publish videos with local leaders of opinions on supporting military operations of Russia in Ukraine.
