Google unilaterally changed the conditions for cooperation with the Novosibirsk State University (NSU) and from July of this year will introduce restrictions on the volume of the combined cloud data storage.

Google introduces restrictions on the volume of the cloud storage for NSU, says the letter that university students received: “Currently, the university has an unlimited storage volume, and since July, for 27455 users of the G.nsu.ru service, it will decrease in total to 100 TB.”

The NSU information technology management will limit the affordable space for all service accounts up to 3 GB, writes RBC Novosibirsk. Users were offered to optimize data in personal data storage facilities until June 6th.

The press service of NSU confirmed that Google introduced restrictions on the use of cloud storage.

“By decision of the IT department, 3 GB of memory is allocated to each registered service user. This volume is enough for conducting educational and teaching activities. Situations where users need a larger amount of memory will be decided individually, ”the publication told the university.
