DPRK tests detonating devices for nuclear weapons

North Korea tests detonators for a nuclear warhead. This may indicate preparations for the tests of atomic weapons, the Renhap agency said with reference to the National Security Office of South Korea on May 25.

The alleged tests can be held at Pungeri’s training ground 180 kilometers from the border with Russia. If the explosion will take place, it will be the seventh, committed by North Korea, contrary to categorical prohibitions from the world community.

On May 25, the DPRK launched three ballistic missiles towards the Sea of Japan. One of them was supposedly intercontinental.

Messages about the testing of weapons appear during the Asian trip of US President Joe Biden, who visited South Korea. He met with the new President of South Korea Moon Jaeh, who declared a "tough course" in relations with Pyongyang.

• In 1993, North Korea refused to fulfill the contract on non -proliferation of nuclear weapons and since 2006 conducted at least six testing nuclear explosions, the last of which took place in September 2017.
