The Ukrainian Orthodox Church announced full independence

The Ukrainian Orthodox Church decided on complete independence and independence from the Moscow Patriarchate, the decree of the Council of the UOC, held on Friday in Kyiv, says.

The document is condemned by the war in Ukraine and the UOC -disagreement is expressed with the position of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus' Kirill regarding the Russian invasion.

The cathedral also called on Kyiv and Moscow to continue the peace negotiation process and "the search for a strong and reasonable word that could stop bloodshed."

The cathedral set the task not to leave refugees who have left Ukraine in the last three months without spiritual guardianship.

In addition, the UOC proposed to resume the dialogue of the schismatic Orthodox Church of Ukraine. “In order for the dialogue to take place, representatives of PCU need, in particular, to stop the capture of temples and forced transfers of the UOC's parishes,” the cathedral says.
