Ibragimov and Fedorov are charged with participation in the activities of a terrorist organization (Part 2 of Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code). They were during mass searches of Crimean Tatar activists in February 2021, at the same time both were sent under arrest.
Before his arrest, Ernest Ibragimov worked as a cook in a cafe, the owner of which, Marlena Asanov, received 19 years of maximum security on charges of organizing the activities of the Bakhchisarai branch of Hizb ut-Tahrir (Part 1 of Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code). After Asanov’s arrest, Ibragimov was involved in activism in the “Crimean Solidarity” and “Crimean Childhood” projects. The prosecutor requested a shorter sentence for him, since Ibragimov has four children.
