Security forces detained two picketers who came to the building of the Meshchansky District Court of Moscow in order to support municipal deputy Alexei Gorinov. An eyewitness to the incident, Anton Taroyants, told OVD-Info about the arrest.
One of the picketers had a poster with the inscription “Freedom for Alexei Gorinov.” The detainees were put in a paddy wagon with the inscription "Krasnoselsky" Department of Internal Affairs. It is not yet known what they are charged with.
At the moment, a hearing is taking place in the Meshchansky Court on the case of “fake news” about the Russian army, which was brought against Gorinov at the end of April. Mundep is accused under the article on “fakes” about the Russian army (Part 2 of Article 207.3 of the Criminal Code). At first, his colleague Elena Kotenochkina, who is now outside Russia, was involved in the same case with him, but later Gorinov’s case was separated into a separate proceeding. The deputy was taken into custody .
The reason for initiating the case was a speech at a meeting of the council of deputies of the Krasnoselsky municipal district. According to investigators, Gorinov, in collusion with Kotenochkina, disseminated deliberately false information “about the conduct of military aggressive actions by the Russian Federation on the territory of another sovereign state, calling them not a special military operation, but a war”, about the invasion of the territory of Ukraine by the Russian army “with the aim of seizing it territory, the liquidation of its independence, changes in its political or social system,” about the daily death of children in the war in Ukraine, and that the actions of the Russian army on the territory of Ukraine, “as an element of the system of state power, are the actions of a fascist state.”
In the pre-trial detention center, Gorinov is in torture conditions. During his imprisonment, he had to sleep on a concrete floor. In addition, Gorinov suffers from tuberculosis, and the disease worsened after his arrest. He is not provided with adequate medical care in the pre-trial detention center.
