The State Duma introduced a bill on a single state exam on native languages for the peoples of Russia. The authors of the bill were a deputy of United Russia from Bashkortastan Elvira Aitkulova and the State Assembly of the Republic.

The changes are proposed to make due to the fact that each Russian has the right to use the native language and to the free choice of the language of communication. "Native Language and Literature" are required for study in schools, these are the only items on which the GIA and the USE cannot be taken.

The authors of the bill believe that the exam in native languages will help to enter universities. What universities and specialties can be discussed in the bill is not specified.

The document also proposes to supplement the Law "On Education on the right to receive preschool, primary general, basic general and secondary general education in their native language from among the languages of the peoples of Russia.

193 people live on the territory of Russia, who speak approximately 277 languages (according to other sources - 295) and dialects. The discussion of the possibility of passing exams in the native language and literature took place back in 2011, but these subjects are still not in the lists of disciplines that schoolchildren can take. Graduates also do not have the opportunity to pass the exam in other subjects in their native language.
