Chita: At a rally against rising prices, they called for Putin's resignation

At the rally, participants called on the authorities to pay attention to high prices and low salaries. He demanded to introduce additional benefits for all Russian citizens, indexes salaries and pensions and demonopolize the food market.

“We see how various shops are closed in the city. This place either remains empty or one of two stores appear there. These retail outlets are supervised by officials from the city administration and local government. This is a monopoly market regulation, when two networks oversee almost the entire volume of food, which necessarily leads to a price increase and a deterioration in the quality of service,” said the social activist Marina Savvateeva.

Activists also called other reasons for the growth in prices in the Trans -Baikal Territory.

“The first aspect is foreign policy: the introduction of sanctions and so on,” says the organizer of the rally Alexander Zhdanov, “the second is purely speculative when a number of entrepreneurs against the background of the situation in the country, they unreasonably raised prices. It is also the work of the authorities when there is no proper control of the pricing policy: this problem is especially noticeable in the distant regions of the country.”

Chitinets Vladimir Mironchev proposed adding to the draft resolution the issue of resignation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

“Under the current president, economic policy does not lead to the enrichment of the people of Russia. And even to preserve what we already have. Every year life becomes worse. At the beginning of his reign, we could still observe some kind of economic growth, but then there was a decline. And this, taking into account what tremendous opportunities Russia has,” Vladimir said.

The pensioner Elvira Cheremnykh said that in Russia there is no longer "social security".

“We have a great stratification between the oligarchs and the usual people, on crisis days the first people receive support, the common people remain aside. Today, prices are growing again. What once again became the reason - a question to the authorities. Did I not say about it about the increase in the prices of the“ special operation ”? I already were detained for three days for a post in social networks,” she said.

The draft resolution, together with the amendments made, was adopted by those present unanimously. According to activists, the next rally will be held in early July, after raising tariffs at housing and communal services.
