Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN Security Council Vasily Nebenzya left the hall during the speech of the President of the European Council Charles Michel.

Judging by the broadcast of the meeting, this happened after Michel accused Russia of blocking millions of tons of grain in Ukraine, disrupting agricultural work (including by mining), hitting granaries, stealing agricultural products and trying to “shift the blame on others.”

"It's cowardly and it's propaganda," the European official said, adding that the EU had not imposed sanctions on Russia's agricultural sector. After these words, Michel said: "You can leave ... It's probably easier not to listen to the truth."

Deputy Nebenzi Dmitry Polyansky said that he left the hall because Charles Michel spoke "loosely and rudely" and accused Russia of provoking the crisis "contrary to the facts."

• Ukraine is one of the largest grain exporters in the world. Due to the Russian invasion, a significant part of exports - primarily by sea - has stopped, which creates the threat of a global food crisis.
• Russia, which has seized part of the major Ukrainian ports, blames Kiev for what is happening, arguing that exports are hindered by Ukrainian mining approaches to its ports. The Russian Federation also says that it can start deliveries of grain itself if sanctions are lifted.
