Russian and Belarusian educational organizations are excluded from the Bologna system, TASS said with reference to the deputy minister of education and science Dmitry Afanasyev. .
“In fact, taking into account the fact that our rectors, heads of educational organizations signed under the appeal of the Russian Union of Rectors on the support of the president in connection with a special operation, in fact, all educational organizations of the country are thereby excluded from the Bologna process,” RBC Afanasyev quotes .
The deputy minister also emphasized that Russia, joining the Bologna educational process, did not take on any international obligations, so it is not required to leave some agreement today.
“I would say that this Bologna system came out of us, and not us from it,” the official noted.
Russia has been participating in the Bologna process since 2003. It provides for a two -level education system: undergraduate and magistracy.
The feasibility of the participation of the Russian Federation in the Bologna process has already been discussed against the backdrop of a deterioration in relations with Western countries, but the discussion has become significantly aggravated after the start of hostilities in Ukraine.
On May 24, the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Valery Falkov said that Russia plans to abandon the Bologna education system and develop its own.
On June 1, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation also recommended universities not to participate in the program of the student exchange of Erasmus+. Under this program, trips of Russian students to study in European countries and international exchanges were financed. Since 2014, more than 13.2 thousand students from the Russian Federation took part in it.
