The court in St. Petersburg upheld the decision to arrest Victoria Petrova, accused of spreading “fake news” about the Russian army based on political hatred (clause “d”, part 2 of article 207.3 of the Criminal Code), until June 30. This was reported by the publication "Paper".
Petrova spoke in court with the words: “All the atrocities were presented in Russia under the guise of a so-called special operation, the fight against nationalism and other fairy tales. All this is a cynical and monstrous lie.”
The case against Petrova was initiated because of a video that the girl published on VKontakte. Investigators claim that the content of the video contradicts information from the Russian Ministry of Defense. They did not specify exactly what information in it is “knowingly false.”
