How to help refugees from Ukraine, staying in St. Petersburg?

About 1.5 million Ukrainian citizens have already been taken to Russia, said the head of the National Center for Defense of Russia, Mikhail Misintsev. Several hundred of them - in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region, and the flow does not end. Many refugees need help - humanitarian, financial and medical.

“Paper” took nine initiatives to help Ukrainian refugees, where Petersburgers can become volunteers or where you can transfer money: from groups to buy tickets to a language online school.

Mapahelp

Mapahelp collects and provides information about organizations and people outside Ukraine, which are ready to help Ukrainians free of charge. The map shows Geotes in Russia, Belarus, Estonia and other countries where refugees provide housing, food, transfer, and also provide psychological support, medical and financial assistance.

To offer your assistance in St. Petersburg, you need to fill out the questionnaire , indicating the name of the organization or your name, type of assistance and address.

Volunteer community in St. Petersburg

Volunteers of the spontaneously organized community help Ukrainians with temporary housing, transport them across the border with Estonia and Finland, buy the necessary things and medicines. They told the “paper” how the coordination of refugee requests occurs and how the Petersburgers self -organized and began to help the victims of Russia in Ukraine.

A separate chat was created to help refugees at a temporary accommodation point under Tikhvin: you can transfer things to the coordinators or take someone to the camp or from it.

Buying tickets to Estonian, Latvian and Polish borders

The organization does not have a specific name, but its volunteers help with the purchase of tickets to refugees who are in Russia and want to cross the border with Estonia, Latvia or Poland. According to the beginning of June, volunteers purchased about 2.5 thousand tickets for Ukrainian refugees.

The average ticket price is 3-4 thousand rubles. You can make a donation of the organization and pay tickets publicly or anonymously.

Refugees: Help remaining in the Russian Federation

This is an initiative group of assistance to Ukrainians who, for various reasons, decided to stay in Russia. Refugees are published in the chat, some of them are from St. Petersburg.

You can respond to any request in the group itself: to provide refugees with humanitarian assistance and housing, offer work and medical services, meet with train and much more.

"Doctors to help"

Telegram chat publishes requests for medical care or medicines for Ukrainian refugees, including in St. Petersburg. Doctors and medical workers can respond to messages and offer help in the chat itself.

Common

Common is a volunteer project that helps Ukrainian refugees learn foreign languages. The team has Ukrainians, Russians and Belarusians.

Anyone can become a volunteer or teacher of Common: now the organization conducts classes in 37 languages, including English, German, Polish, French and others. To do this, you need to fill out an application in the telegram-boot of the NGOs.

"Children of St. Petersburg"

The organizers of the organization are free to social adaptation in St. Petersburg for children of migrants and refugees, including from Ukraine. Also, “Children of St. Petersburg” collect products, clothes and other things for Ukrainian families with children.

The organization is looking for vulture teachers for full-time and online bonds in the Russian language, mathematics, English, preparation for school. Organization of disabled people by hearing "Ark"

The St. Petersburg charity organization of disabled people with a hearing “ Ark ” helps deaf and hard of hearing refugees from Ukraine. The organization includes professional supervisors, as well as volunteers.

"Help leave"

Volunteers of the organization help in the evacuation of Ukrainians from the zone of military operations, occupied territories and the Russian Federation. It is necessary to process a large amount of information and be prepared to support refugees in stress and danger. You can participate in the project from 4 hours a day, at least 3 days a week.
