In Finland, the last monument to Lenin in the country will be transferred from the Kotka city center to the Kumenlaakso Museum. This decision was made by the city council. About this writes "Interfax."

In Kotka, disputes about the future of the monument began before the start of the war in Ukraine. The discussion about whether Soviet monuments in Finnish cities and Soviet symbols in toponymy are acceptable, again perked up in the spring.

The city council has already decided the fate of sculpture, but decided that there was no need to remove it. Now he revised the initiatives of citizens and former members of the Council.

In April last year, it was decided to transfer to the museum of the monument to Lenin from the city center of Turku. The bust was presented to Leningrad and has been in the city center since 1977.

The sculpture in Kotka was the last major monument to Lenin in Finland. But on the streets of the cities of Finland, you can still find dedicated to the Soviet state and political figure commemorative boards and bas-reliefs.
