Bitcoin price fell below $20,000

Bitcoin fell below the psychological mark of $20,000. At the minimum, the rate was $18,743.

For the first time since December 2020, bitcoin is below $20,000. It has fallen in price by almost 10% in a day. By 10:51 Moscow time, the rate approached $19,000, and at the moment it fell below this mark.

Along with bitcoin, all alternative cryptocurrencies collapsed - ethereum fell by 9.6%, to $990, and Dogecoin - by 8.7%, to $0.05.

• Over the past two months, the capitalization of the cryptocurrency market has lost $1 trillion. Among the reasons, Reuters called the sale of the most risky assets by investors against the backdrop of accelerating inflation in the United States and fears that higher interest rates by central banks will impede growth.
