In Baku, at the 77th year of life, the former Secretary of State of the RSFSR Gennady Burbulis died. This was reported by Interfax with reference to his press secretary Andrei Markov.

“He was not sick, felt great and just took part in work in the IX Global Baku Forum, which discussed the question of“ threat to global world order, ”said Markov.
In 1992, Burbulis served as the State Secretary under the First President of Russia Boris Yeltsin. He participated in the signing of Belovezhsky agreements by the RSFSR.
Burbulis was also the first deputy chairman of the Russian government in 1991-1992. He was repeatedly elected to the State Duma, was a member of the Federation Council from the Novogorodsky Region, and also in 2011-2014 he worked as a vice -rector of the International University in Moscow for Innovative Development.
