The course of modern Russian history for ninth-graders included recognition of the self-proclaimed DPR and LPR

The Kremlin’s recognition of the self-proclaimed DPR and LPR was included in the school course on modern Russian history. This was reported by Taiga.info with reference to the work program; the document was published on the website of the Institute of Education Strategy.

As follows from the program, the course “Introduction to Contemporary History of Russia” consists of 12 hours of study. Of these, three are proposed to be devoted to the topic “Renaissance of the country since the 2000s; Reunification of Crimea with Russia.” More time in the program is devoted only to the Great Patriotic War - four hours.

In the subtopic “Russian Federation at the present stage,” ninth-graders are asked to talk about Russia’s recognition of the self-proclaimed DPR and LPR in February 2022. The content of the topic in the program is not disclosed.

In addition, students will be discussed on topics such as “Human Capital” and “Comfortable Living Environment.” When studying “Economic Growth”, teenagers will be told about the construction of the Crimean Bridge, the Power of Siberia and Nord Stream pipelines. Ninth-graders will also learn about voting on amendments to the Constitution in 2020 and the coronavirus pandemic in Russia. Taiga.info notes that the program is almost no different from last year.
