In the Tula region, a Ukrainian woman was fined for speaking about the killing of civilians in a hotel for refugees from Mariupol.

The Efremov Interdistrict Court of the Tula Region imposed a fine of 30 thousand rubles on Ukrainian citizen Tatyana Skomarida, who was talking about killed civilians in the hotel lobby. This was reported by the joint press service of the city courts.

The Ukrainian woman was found guilty under the protocol on “discrediting” the Russian army (Part 1 of Article 20.3.3 of the Administrative Code). Also, according to the card on the court’s website, she was given an administrative punishment under the article on disobedience to a security officer (Part 1, Article 19.3 of the Administrative Code).

The press service explained that on the afternoon of June 19, Skomarida, in the lobby of the Efremov Hotel (formerly called Vstrecha), expressed “a negative attitude towards the Russian Armed Forces conducting a special military operation on the territory of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, namely that the military are killing civilians of Ukraine.”

The court concluded that Skomorida, through her actions, “deliberately undermined the authority, image and trust” of the Russian army.

In March, the head of the Efremov complex, Larisa Isakina , told the Zarya Efremov publication that the hotel accepted 116 refugees from Mariupol, including 26 children. Humanitarian aid is also collected there for them.

“The condition of the people is dire. The need is literally for everything: seasonal clothing, shoes, underwear, hygiene products, toys, stationery,” Isakina said. Upon arrival, Mariupol residents who fled the war were promised to be given Mir cards and help with finding a job.
