The State Duma adopted a law allowing parallel import

Only some goods and brands can be imported without permission, the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia in May determined the categories. The bill was introduced to the State Duma by the government.

The explanatory note to the bill says that it was “developed in order to reduce the growth in prices for imported goods in connection with the introduction of economic sanctions against“ Russia. Western countries introduced prohibitions on the country of various categories of goods: from luxury clothing, shoes and perfumes to products from iron, steel and some other metals, fertilizers, forests. In addition, many companies suspended supplies to Russia or completely decided to leave the Russian market.
