- In May, inflation in the United States reached its highest level since December 1981 and amounted to 8.6% in annual terms. In the Eurozone, inflation reached 8.1%. The main reasons for the acceleration of inflation are increased energy prices.
- Earlier, the US President announced a decision to release one million barrels of fuel per day from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve in order to stop rising prices. He also attracted international partners, with whom 240 million barrels of oil were sent to the market. In addition, the presidential administration is working with oil refiners to develop measures to increase the productivity of enterprises.
