Amnesty International recognized Sasha Skochilenko as a prisoner of conscience

The human rights organization Amnesty International recognized the St. Petersburg artist Sasha Skochilenko as a prisoner of conscience. The Russian authorities accuse her under a criminal article on discrediting the Russian army based on political hatred.

"Amnesty International considers Alexander Skochilenko a prisoner of conscience and requires her immediate and unconditional liberation." - The organization says. Human rights activists demand to stop the case against the artist and cancel the article of the Criminal Code under which she is accused.

• The artist, musician and activist Sasha Skochilenko is accused of stinging stickers with information about the Russian military invasion of Ukraine in the store. For this, a criminal case on the discrediting of the Russian armed forces based on political hatred was opened for her. She faces up to 10 years in prison. On April 13, the court sent Skochilenko to arrest for two months.
