The Southern District Military Court extended the arrest of Azamat Eyupov, a defendant in the Belogorsk Hizb ut-Tahrir case, for three months, and the Sevastopol City Court extended the preventive measure for Crimean Tatar activist Ansar Osmanov for one and a half months. Crimean Solidarity reports this.
Osmanov is charged with participation in the activities of a terrorist organization in connection with involvement in the Islamic political party Hizb ut-Tahrir (Part 2 of Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code).
Eyupov is accused of preparing to seize power (Article 278 of the Criminal Code with the use of Part 1 of Article 30 of the Criminal Code) and organizing the activities of a terrorist organization (Part 1 of Article 205.5 of the Criminal Code). On May 25, Azamat Eyupov’s cellmate told the lawyer that he had signs of a stroke or micro-stroke: his arm and leg were functioning poorly, he could not move around his cell. In the pre-trial detention center, the man still cannot receive qualified medical care.
Osmanov was taken into custody on February 9, 2022 . Azamat Eyupov - February 17, 2021 , later he was transferred to the Rostov region, where his case is being considered on its merits.
